The perfect summer drinks…

by Julie on June 17, 2010

On a recent trip to the liquor store, I picked up a bottle of HARLEM® Kruiden Liqueur and Ketel One OranjeTM – the Nolet Family’s latest creations. For those of you who don’t know, Ketel One Oranje recently launched in the US. Part of the Ketel One family, it is an orange flavored vodka that smells like fresh oranges and tastes quite amazing!

While at the register, the checkout clerk seemed confused by my mix of spirits – vodka and herbal liqueur. “You gonna drink these together?” he asked. I laughed, and then gave it a quick thought and realized – YES – I could totally mix these spirits together for some delicious cocktails. Suddenly, I couldn’t wait to get home.

I went straight to my computer. Since the launch of Oranje, our sales team has emailed me several recipes that local bartenders have created with HARLEM.  A quick check in the fridge for the other ingredients and I was well on my way to enjoy some fresh, summer cocktails – perfect for an afternoon BBQ.

Here are some recommended HARLEM and Ketel One Oranje bartender creations:

At the end of the BBQ I realized how mixable HARLEM really is. I’m not sure if it is those mandarin notes or the perfect blend of herbs and spices, but it can be consumed in several different ways and with a variety of ingredients. This combo of HARLEM and Oranje presents a perfect opportunity for bartenders to create some fresh summer drinks.

So, what cocktails will you create with these two products?  Proost!
